I feel like I've been able to throw some roots down because my MA/PhD program is a long one, but chances are I'll leave this community once I'm done. It must be an even harder challenge for those who are in shorter term (MA or PhD-only) programs to become involved. I hope that this will not be as much of a problem after school, but it also depends on how transient you plan to be. It's become increasingly common for people to go years without settling down in one place.Ginanoreply@blogger.com
